Multidisciplinary Expert Panel in Orofacial Pain: How to Solve a Dilemma in Facial Pain: an interactive case-based discussion

Two orofacial pain cases (Case 1: Neuropathic; Case 2: Musculoskeletal) will be presented in this session. A panel of experts in orofacial pain, neurology, pharmacology, and physical therapy will discuss each clinical case and offer expertise into diagnosis and management. Case presentations will include the patient’s medical history, clinical presentation, diagnostic studies, treatment modalities, and research protocol considerations. Ample time will be designated for interaction between audience and expert panel after every clinical case.

1. To better appreciate the multidisciplinary team approach necessary to manage the chronic pain patient
2. To recognize some of the complexities and comorbidities associated with the evaluation and treatment of a chronic pain patient
3. To better understand the use of a multimodality strategy in the management of chronic pain
